
Procurement, Contract and Capital Management
SSW centralizes supply chain operations to realize operating efficiencies and to streamline operating practices. The services offered by Shared Services West span the full continuum of supply chain services from product and supply procurement to payment, including:
The purchasing and contract management processes support all clinical and non-clinical products and services, including all capital equipment, medical and surgical supplies, utilities, diagnostic imaging supplies, prostheses, food, laboratory supplies, office supplies, linens, disposable supplies, housekeeping supplies and computer supplies.
All services that are the subject to a contract within a hospital are also managed by SSW with the exception of drugs, personal services and employment contracts.
SSW provides additional redevelopment capital procurement services as required.
Logistics
The management of Logistics is centralized with SSW. Logistics operations remain at the hospital sites. This decentralized component includes in-hospital receiving, transfers and OR inventory mangement. SSW employs Source Medical to provide management of just-in-time (JIT) operations.
